I don't have the first clue about giving a toast, let alone have any experience at talking in front of a group of people. SO now what do you do?Well that is a very good question.
You need to aquire some infomation to fill in the blanks. Because knowledge is power & without it we are lost. Key things that you need to know is when do I give the toast, how do I get everyones attention, what to say and how to say it.

Giving a memorable wedding toast, takes a little bit of knowledge. But if you aren't prepared you can bomb out fast. People get scared or nervous when they don't know what to do. That can cause you undue stress.
Well it doesn't have to be that way because if you take the time to get the right information then you can be prepared and enjoy yourself at the wedding and reception. That is my goal is to help folks like you learn all the elements from having a wedding toast that speaks from your heart. To knowing when to give the toast, how to get everyones attention. There are 4 key elements to giving a successful wedding toast:
1. Having a Toast - You can write it yourself or have someone create one for you. The key is to say what is in your heart about the couple getting married, and obviously if you are giving a toast, then you are pretty closed to the wedding couple. Keep it short and simple, keep it on the positive side.
2. Knowing when to give the toast typically it is said just after the blessing before everyone eats,
but you may want to check with the bride and groom to make sure this is when they want to have it.
3. Getting everyones attention is a must, you don't want to be talking and having a bunch of commotion going on at the same time. Usually if you tap on toast glass lightly with a piece of silverware will get everyones attention.
4. You need to take a little time to practice your toast, use a mirror and try to smile as you say the toast this makes all the difference in setting the mood.
Practicing your toast will give you the confidence to deliver a good toast.
